Pakistan Repatriation Council ( PRC ) last night held in VIP hall of Mehran Restaurant a function on 78th anniversary of Pakistanís resolution held on 23rd March 1940 in Lahore. It was presided by renowned Saudi intellectual, scholar and ex-diplomat Dr. Ali al-Ghamdi,. Chief Guest was Kashmiri leader Mohammad Raja Zareen. Other guests included Syed Neaz Ahmed President of Pakistan Writers Forum; Shahid Nayeem; President ; Mohammad Jamil Rathore general secretary of Pakistan Journalists Foru, Business and social personalities; Shaikh Mohammad Luqman; Mohammad Ali Al-Ghamdi; Shamsuddin Altaf and Mohammad Akram Agha; Engrs. Syed Naseeruddin, Engr. Syed Ghazanfar Hassan of Engineers Welfare Forum;

Dr. Ali Al-Ghamdi in his presidential address congratulated Pakistanis on this occasion. He said when he was 13 years old and got sick he was recommended to visit Pakistani embassy in Jeddah where Pakistani Doctors were offering treatment which impressed him. Later he visited and stayed in Karachi for several years for education and diplomatic services. He said Pakistan is dear to him and considers is his second home. He said in 11th Century a renowned Arab scholar Ahmed Baiyroni who lived in India wrote in one of his remarkable book : Critical Studies of India ď in which he revealed that Hindus and Muslims are two distinct nations and can not live together so that was the ď seed of two nation theory or Pakistan ď which came into reality on 23rd March 1940 in Lahore when thousands of Muslims under their unique and popular leader Mohammad Ali Jinnah and his associate gathered in which Bengalís Fazlul Haqueís resolution for creation of separate homeland for Indian Muslim was unanimously approved. They committed that nothing less than Pakistan will be accepted. Jinnahís great charismatic leadership made Pakistan within seven years. He said Pakistan is the pride of Muslim world and every one prays for its Solidarity; Integrity; peace and integrity. He said according to the two nation theory Pakistan should have been part of Pakistan; however due to Indo- British conspiracy it was annexed to India. Under the UNO resolution a plebiscite is pending to determine the decision of Kahmiris to choose whether they want to live with India of Pakistan. For permanent peace in the subcontinent Kashmir issue must be resolved soon.

He reminded that Pakistan has to take care of itís patriotic citizens languishing in Bangladesh since 1971. There is no justification to leave them un-attended. He said it is the primary responsibility of Pakistan to issue Pakistani passports and arrange their repatriation and settle them in Pakistan. In this regards PRC proposal can be implemented to avoid financial burden on the national economy.

Chief guest Raja Zareen Khan said pair rich tribute to Quaide Azam due to his full commitment towards Kashmiris when he declared it as active veins of Pakistan. Hence Kashmiri leaders also extended full support to Quade Azam in the movement of Pakistan. He said true Kashmiri leaders e.g. Syed Ali Gilani; Asia Andrabi and others want Kashmirís affiliation to Pakistan.

Shahid Nayeem President of Pakistan Journalists Forum said Pakistanís creation was a miracle under the great leadership of Quaide Azam. He said the dream of Pakistan to make it an Islamic Welfare state did not come into reality. Unfortunately our new generation is unaware about the Pakistan movement and reason for a Muslim state. He said that it is governmentís basic responsibility to teach them about purpose and role of Pakistan.
Deputy convener Hamid Islam Khan said in opening speech sanctity of Pakistan day. He also reiterated PRCís mission that Pakistan will not be complete without return of stranded Pakistanis and annexation of Kashmir.

Engr. Neaz Ahmed shed light on pre-1940s history in which he said when Congress took power they tried to eliminate Muslims from Government jobs; education and other privilege which generated insecure future. Even the judiciary failed to give them justice; rather strengthened the killers that led to massacre of Bengal; Bihar; Sindh in which both sides lost lives, but Hindu leadership did not realise the situation. So Jinnah accepted the idea of Allama Iqbal for a Islamic state. He appealed all political parties to include in their agenda issues of Kashmir and stranded Pakistanis. He advised Pakistanis to select honest and patriotic candidates irrespective of party affiliation.

Shamsuddin Altaf also spoke in Arabic, and thanked Dr. Ali Al-Ghamdi for joining the function and supporting the cause of Kashmiris and stranded Pakistanis. He presented detailed write up covering status of Muslims in India and the role of founding leaders of Pakistan movement which resulted in the creation of Pakistan. He said Islam is the only bond to make Pakistan a strong nation to secure respectable role in the world arena. He urged the government to arrange repatriation of stranded Pakistanis from Bangladesh on priority.

Renowned laurate Mohammad Ashfaq Badayouni said that in todayís culture the opportunist and leaders of vested interest are highlighted and awarded and true and patriotic Pakistanis are ignored which gives negative impression about the nation. We must change to give true guidance to new generation about Pakistan.

Mohammad Akram Agha praised leadership of Quaide Azam and prayed that country get similar leader to bring Pakistan on the track of his mission.

Business community leader Shaikh Mohammad Luqman urged the youngsters to carry the mission of Quaide Azam to realize the dream of Pakistan.

Mohammad Amanatullah said that Pakistan could not achieve itís true objective due to selfish and vested interest leadership. It is high time that we work to bring honest leadership to power..

Dr. Tanweer Zaman director and founder of Institute of Saudi Arabian Studies gave itís details. Purpose is to highlight Saudi Arabisís vision of 2030.

Convener Syed Ehsanul Haque thanked Dr. Ali Al-Ghamdi; speakers, journalist, poets and guests in participating the function. He said Pakistan was created on the basis of two nation theory, so Muslims from India migrated to East Pakistan and not to Bangladesh which was established on Bengali language after splitting from an Islamic state. He said on that basis Kashmir should be part of Pakistan and stranded Pakistanis in Bangladesh should be brought to country.

He urged all political parties to include in their election agenda the solution of stranded Pakistanis issue once they come into power

Function started with the recitation of holy Quran by Qari Abdul Majeed Renowned poet Zamurrad Khan Saifi presented Naat ( glorifying the prophet ( s ) and poem on the struggle of Pakistan.

Event was conducted by renowned journalist Syed Musarrat Khalil. He also presented his write up on movement of Pakistan and felicitated Quaide Azam and other leadership for great achievement of Pakistan.

Following resolutions were approved by the audience:


1. We urge president Mamnoon Hussain for urgent action for the repatriation and rehabilitation of stranded Pakistanis. To overcome the paucity of fund, we suggest to implement PRC proposal of ď settlement of stranded Pakistanis on self finance basisď. Pakistani High Commissioner at Dhaka should be assigned to take care of Food, health, life and security of quarter million Pakistanis stranded in Bangladesh. OIC should include in itís agenda the issue of settlement of stranded Pakistanis.

2. Pakistan govt. should use OIC, UNO, USA and super powers to influence India to ensure plebiscite in Kashmir according to the will of itís people. Kashmiri leaders e.g. Syed Ali Gilani,Wayez Farooq should be included in all the negotiation of team of India and Pakistan.

3. We also condemn atrocities on Muslims in Rakhine; Syria; Sri Lanka and urged OIC to take serious action to protect them.

4. We praise Nawai waqt fund for stranded Pakistanis, IDB, IIRO, OBAT Helpers, MWDO which are alleviating their miseries. We urge Eidhi Trust and those welfare wings belonging to MQM, Jamaate Islami, Tehrike Insaaf, PML to start welfare activities for stranded Pakistanis in Bangladeshi camps.
