Role of Tameer-e-Millat Foundation in Education Sector
The name ¡§Tameer-e-Millat¡¨ was given to an idea conceived by Dr. Zaheer Ahmad and his expatriate associates in United States in the mid eighties who eventually decided to come back to their beloved homeland and put into practice their vision. Their love with the land insisted them to serve their own people by creating educational opportunities for every common man who was unable to seek knowledge at his own. This dream was materialized and named as Tameer-e-Millat Foundation (TMF) in 1987. TMF is indulged in education sector with the dedication that every child should get his basic right of education. Special emphasis is on the females of remote areas who do not have the opportunities of getting education. At the moment, TMF is running over 440 educational institutions, educating more than 27,000 students and serving 700 communities in 25 districts of the country.
For omitting social amelioration, TMF is making strenuous efforts through its ¡§Educate Pakistan¡¨ campaign for the last two decades. The Foundation has been making deliberate efforts in the field of education. We have succeeded, to some extent, in making a qualitative impact in underprivileged areas especially and on the nation in general. Addressing the problem of gender disparity in the field of education has been among our major goals. Still poverty eradication from the country through increased literacy rate is another.
Tameer-e-Millat Foundation reaches in areas where there was only one school for last one century, females facing sheer opposition in getting education and also to far flung areas with poor communication channels and unfavorable weather conditions, land sliding, and snowfall posing hurdles in the way of progress activities. From Skardu to Karachi we are successfully operating our networks of primary and model schools in 25 districts of Pakistan.
Working in vulnerable communities, living under the shadows of poverty and deprivation, we are working for sustainable development whereby our beneficiaries are empowered to their basic rights. Reaching to underprivileged areas and narrowing the gender disparities in the field of education has been our motto. Without investing in primary and secondary education, young people will remain deprived of future success where hopelessness, disenchantment and alienation often follow.
CITY OF EDUCATION, FATEHJANG, ATTOCK
TM City of Education is the mega project, situated in Ratwal, Tehsil Fateh Jhang which is 55 kms in the outskirts of Islamabad. The scenic beauty of area mountainous region and pollution free environment has no doubt made it a superb idea to establish an education centre there. TMCE Campus Spanning over the area of 300 acres, not only provides the educational opportunities to natives but also children from far off places. Along with the educational and residential facilities, City of Education is well equipped with dairy farm, fish farms, small water dams, a large area covered with fruit gardens and timber trees. Projects like Central Library, TM School Health System and TM Mosque and Islamic Centre are also under construction.
TM School of Excellence for Boys (TMSEB)
TMSEB was launched in 2002 as a residential educational facility. It offers education from sixth to 12th grade. The idea behind the establishment of TMSEB is to treat both body and sole in close proximity with academic and human values. The supreme priority of TMSEB is to make students professionally sound so that they would handle their personal affairs in the best possible manner as well as making them successful citizen in every walk of life. Besides academics, the school has seven days a week sports program supervised by professional instructors.
Owing to its high standard of education and other facilities, a large number of candidates compete for admission every year. Priority is given to brilliant students from remote areas who lack access and means to high standard education. At present there are 235 students who are getting education from the school.
Striving to develop the scientific skills to students, Physics, Chemistry and Biology laboratories have been established at TMSEB with the generous assistance of our donors.
TM School of Excellence for Girls (TMSEG)
After the inauguration of building, TMSEG will run parallel to TMSEB, providing education to female students. It will be equipped with all requisites of a first class educational institution such as science and computer labs, library and sports ground, fully furnished hostel building and vast airy classrooms. The institution will also recruit a number of female instructors and would create job opportunities for qualified females.
Tameer-e-Jannat Science School (TJ)
On 8th October, 2005 an earthquake recorded 7.6 magnitude, hit the Hamilayan region of Northern Pakistan especially Kashmir region. Hundreds of causalities were reported in North Muzzafarabad, Kashmir and Hazara division. Many buildings collapsed in the cities and rural areas. The massive destruction killed about 80,000 people leaving 3,500,000 homeless.
In this devastating period when every human heart was pondering over to help the effected people, TMF also took the initiative. Tameer-e-Jannat Science School was established for rehabilitating the parentless and shelter less children.
The school provides complete educational and residential facilities. Hostel block consists of 34 rooms with allied facilities of dining, messing, laundry, etc. At present there are over 160 residential students, accommodated at Tameer-e-Jannat Science School.
Our aim is to provide the quality education to these children. We will facilitate higher studies, impart technical trainings and develop them into professionally sound individuals that will help them in serving their families as well as country on the broader level.
Tameer-e-Millat Institute of Technology (TMIT)
In order to keep pace with the rapidly changing environment in the world specifically in the field of technical education sector, in 2006 Tameer-e-Millat Foundation took initiative to introduce technical education in the system by establishing ¡§Tameer-e-Millat Institute of Technology¡¨ at its City of Education.

Tameer-e-Millat Institute of Technology is committed to provide best technical personnel with sound practical knowledge to the country so that they could handle latest technologies efficiently in their respective fields. In order to fulfill this commitment we have inducted latest machinery, equipment and other relevant tools.
TM Central Library
The fundamental importance of strong and diverse library resources to quality education is self-evident. The library provides the fullest achievable range of information so that students and faculty alike may pursue knowledge beyond the boundaries of the classroom. The range and depth of a library's collections reflect the unique character, goals, mission, and resources of its parent institution.
Following the same ideal TMF has planned to construct TM Central Library at City of Education with the generous contribution of a philanthropist and one of an old friends.TM Central Library would be the largest library of the region, covering the area of 6400 sq.ft. The library would be equipped with internet and catalog facility. On its completion the library would be having four sections; primary, secondary, higher secondary and technical according to the level of classes. TM Central Library would be a stock of resource material for students to facilitate them in their educational activities.
To inculcate the best human ethical values in students, Tameer-e-Millat Mosque and Islamic Centre is under construction at City of Education. The mosque will be having capacity for over one thousand boys and six hundred girls in separate areas. The Islamic Centre will have community meeting and Hifz-e-Qura¡¦n coaching rooms. The centre will be equipped with a well stocked library that will help students to have easy access to knowledge of different religions and their comparative studies.
Preparing quality teachers is the biggest challenge for organizations working in education sector. TMF is also aware of this pressing need of the hour because quality learning, our ultimate objective depends greatly upon quality teaching. Tameer-e-Millat Institute of Teachers¡¦ Development (TMITD) has been established to train not only the born teachers but also develop the ability of teaching in others in a profound manner.
The projects of TMF are a nationwide enterprise for both vertical and horizontal expansion of education. The objective is to achieve a notable uplift in literacy rate through proliferation of quality education in every nook and corner of the country. Creating harmony in the behaviors by imparting strong civic and moral values and eliminating gender differences, neutralizing the ethnic and sectarian gaps from society, TMF is striving for the emergence of a prosper Pakistan.
