1. Dear friends and relatives, as you are aware of the fact that the volunteers of “SAPULSE RELIEF” in coordination with “JINNAH IQBAL FIKRI FORUM” have been making efforts to identify and help “White Collar Poor Families” living below the poverty-line, back home. This is being done through modest distribution of Ration during Ramadan, two Eids and the Independence Day, in Rawalpindi/Islamabad areas, for the last couple of years. This year too; on the eve of Ramadan, our volunteers worked judiciously to identify the extremely distress families and register their bona fide particulars. In fact, their number increased this year to 450 families showing more increasing trends due to unprecedented price hike and unemployment. However, despite our best efforts, we could accommodate only 250 families in Ramadan Ration-2012. These families were issued Ration Cards worth Rs.2000/- ration per family and the ration was subsequently distributed through two bona fide stores on 23 July, 2012. The Ramadan Ration included: “Atta (flour) 20 kilos, Sugar 2.5 kilos, Rice 2.5 kilos, Vegetable oil 3 kilos, Three different Dals (pulses) 3 kilos, Salt 2 kilos, Tea pack 0.4 kilo, Red pepper 0.4 kilo, Tang orange packets 4.”





However, looking to the plight of the remaining 200 poor families, our volunteers have been making efforts to collect donations from friends and relatives for “Yom e Azadai Eid Ration” on 14 August, 2012, among these families too. Please note that we do not collect donations from general public and have confined our efforts to friends and relatives only and in return we dispatch verifiable original Cash Memos of the stores to donors for their tax record etc., while the administrative expenditures are met by volunteers from their own pocket.
