8. “Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao has pitched for a federal front at the Centre with regional parties forming local governments, so that people's representatives don't run a puppet government in states where they have to rush to Delhi for taking any decision.



9. Giving the example of Tamil Nadu, he said people always vote for a regional party so the power remains in the hands of the state”.

10. The Telangana cabinet meeting ended without taking a decision on the dissolution of Assembly and early polls.



11. After an hour-long meeting at the Pragati Bhavan, official residence of the Chief Minister, Finance Minister Etela Rajender along with a few other ministers briefed the reporters.



12. The cabinet took some decisions on sops for different sections of people. A major decision is for the construction of a community building for the Backward Classes on 75 acres of land in Hyderabad at a cost of Rs 70 crore.



13. Asked whether the issue of Assembly dissolution was also discussed, Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari said they briefed the media on the decisions taken as per the agenda of the meeting. "There will be another cabinet meeting soon to take more decisions."





Thousands gather for rally:

15. The party claimed that 25 lakh people will turn up for the meeting, which they say will be the biggest mobilisation of people by any political party in the country.



16. Officials said 7,200 out of 10,600 buses of state-owned Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) were deployed to ferry people for the meeting. This is in addition to hundreds of private vehicles.
